Workshop Materials: Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a soprano recorder, and bring a lunch or purchase food nearby.  Handouts will be available for $2.

 

Please note, these workshops are designed as educational experiences for adults.  Childcare is not provided.

Brain Rules: Music Taught the Way Children Learn

Doug Goodkin is an internationally recognized teacher of Orff Schulwerk, having taught courses in over 39 countries worldwide.  He has been teaching children between three years old and eighth grade at The San Francisco School for 36 years, beginning in 1975.  He also teaches regularly at the Orff Institut in Salzburg, directs The San Francisco Orff Certification Course and teachers his own course on Jazz and Orff Schulwerk throughout the world.  He is the author of seven books, most recently, "Intery Mintery: Nursery Rhymes for Body, Voice and Orff Ensemble."

Nurturing the Secret Garden

Liz Keefe is currently a music specialist for grades K - 2 in Tiburon, CA.  Prior to teaching music at the French-American school in San Francisco, Liz taught pre-K through 8th grades in the classroom.  She is an Orff Schulwerk Teacher Training faculty member and is a frequent presenter at national Orff Schulwerk conferences and for local chapters.  Liz serves as a board member for the Northern California AOSA chapter, she writes articles for Orff publications, and has several published compositions.
